Connecticut

Democrats gained control of the Governor’s Office in 2010 with the election of Dan Mallory. The Democrats also retained large majorities on both the Senate and House despite Republican gains. The current margins favor the Democrats in the Senate (22 – 14) and in the House (99 – 52).
The Senate is led by President Pro Tem Donald Williams Jr. with Sen. Martin Looney as Majority Leader and Sen. John McKinney as Minority Leader. The House is led by Speaker Christopher Donovan with Rep. Brendon Sharkey as Majority Leader and Rep. Lawrence Cafero as Minority Leader. The Connecticut Legislative Session convenes February 8, 2012.
