Democrat John Hickenlooper won a three way race for the Governorship of Colorado in 2010, maintaining his party’s control of the office. Democrats also maintained control of the State Senate with a 20 - 15 majority. Republicans gained six seats to take control of the House by one seat with a 33 – 32 margin.

The Senate is led by Senate President Brandon Shaffer of Boulder. The new House Speaker is Frank McNulty of Highlands Ranch. The Colorado Legislative Session convenes January 12, 2012.

Colorado Resale Legislation Moves to House Floor

HB 1116, legislation providing for regulation of resale/transfer transactions in Colorado, unanimously passed the House Economic and Business Development Committee on February 21 and is now scheduled to be heard on the House floor.
